Our orphans and their carers

The orphanage and our sponsored children
The home for orphaned children was completed at the end of 2001. At the moment 68 children and their carers live in the home in family-like groups. The children have a home, the necessary education and, most of all, love and a community. The buildings were financed by the German Consulate in Calcutta, a number of Hessian government departments and various donors in Germany. Beginning of 2006 a new oprhanage was built to accomodate girls and boys seperately according to their age, and provide both bedrooms and medical facilities.

The consul visits

The German consul, who has also supported the project in the past, was distinctly impressed during his visit and announced his intention to continue to support the project because it effectively helps the needy in a very poor region of India.
